Devon Center Project Ends

At last night’s meeting, the Board of Supervisors voted 5 to 0 to end the Devon Center rezoning project without adopting any changes in the existing zoning.

Throughout this project, which began in January, 2019, our group of neighbors has offered constructive ideas to improve Devon, and opposed the more drastic proposals advanced by the township’s outside consultant and some members of the Planning Commission including rezoning residential properties for commercial use, and increasing the allowed unit density from 8 per acre to 40 or 50 per acre. The large number of residents joining in our efforts, and the many letters and emails to township officials went a long way toward convincing the Supervisors to reject those extreme proposals. Happily, we can now take the lawn signs down (but should save them in case of future proposals by developers).
